Course overview

Steam systems lose energy through failed traps, poor insulation and unrecovered condensate, all of it invisible on a walk round. This course covers finding and eliminating those losses.

What you will be able to do
  • Explain steam system operation and its losses
  • Survey and test steam traps effectively
  • Recover condensate and flash steam
  • Assess insulation and radiation losses
  • Manage boiler efficiency and blowdown
  • Quantify thermal savings and prioritise work
Who should attend
  • Maintenance and utilities engineers
  • Boiler and plant operators
  • Energy managers
  • Production engineers in process plants
