Course overview

Falls on the level are treated as clumsiness and cause more lost days than most of the hazards that get all the attention. This course covers removing the causes rather than telling people to look where they are going.

What you will be able to do
  • Understand why people slip and trip
  • Assess floors, surfaces and their real slip resistance
  • Control contamination at the source
  • Design cleaning that does not create the hazard
  • Handle lighting, levels, edges and stairs
  • Investigate a fall so the cause is actually found
Who should attend
  • Safety practitioners and officers
  • Facilities and cleaning supervisors
  • Retail, hospitality and healthcare managers
  • Anyone responsible for premises
