Maintenance teams work from scaffolding erected by someone else and signed off by someone who may not have looked closely. This course covers inspecting scaffolding competently before anyone climbs it.

  • Explain who may erect, alter and inspect scaffolding
  • Inspect a scaffold systematically before use
  • Recognise the defects that most often cause collapse
  • Check ties, bracing, foundations and loading
  • Handle handover, tagging and altered scaffolds
